International Women’s Day

Stree Mukti Sanghatana and other network NGOs held a rally at CST on the International Women's Day. A play, "Savitri v/s Savitri" was performed to an enthralled audience. The Indian constitutions and the rights of women were discussed.

Community Counselors’ session on Women and Law

This session for community counselors was led by Advocate Rajshree Damle, who gave an overview of the various laws for women. She highlighted the difference between N.C and F.I.R which was very helpful for the women. She stressed on the fact that valid ID proofs are very important and every women should have them.

The focus was on the solutions to these challenges and how the constitution can help them achieve their goals of equality and a gender just world.

A public hearing of the safety issues that girls and women face in their community in Chembur, Mumbai has been scheduled. With the numerous cases we hear of with #MeToo, this audit is specific to the locality that these girls live in and the problems and challenges they face in their daily life.
